VEX!!
For my Unit G321 foundation portfolio coursework, I intend to produce a spoken word music magazine, print production aimed at 16-24 year olds males consisting of a front cover, contents page and double page spread.
My magazine will be an indie magazine which focuses on spoken word performance artists, who create political music.

My print production will require one medium close up shot for the cover, a few images for the contents page and one image for the double page spread.
My cover image was took behind a white wall near to where I live I thought this would be an easy location to get too and the scenery was how I wanted it to be. The character that I chose was my male friend, I chose him because I knew he would be able to position himself for the images the way i wanted him to be. Also the type of dress sense he has was how I wanted him to dress for the images so there was no hassle there about what he was going to wear etc. The costume that he wore was the same for all the images. They were normal dark coloured combat trousers which were baggy and blended in well with the positions he was holding. I wanted him to wear a cap which was very 21st century and again was what I would’ve told him to wear because I had the type of clothes I wanted him to wear.
We didn’t need any props for the pictures so it was all quite straightforward. I took lots of images, but haven’t yet decided which ones I’m going to include where. But a medium shot has to be used for my front cover, then for my contents page another medium shot and then tiny miniature pictures towards the bottom of the page just to make it look a bit different and less boring. For my double page spread I haven’t made my decision but will probably decide when I come to actually finishing it off.
My double page spread is going to be an interview with a rapper who uses spoken word to express things in a political way. The questions are finished but just need to add a few more questions to make it up to a maximum of ten questions. They are about how he got into music, the religious and political side to it etc. Health and safety notes aren’t really essential because we didn’t go on a far location, we were close to home so there was nothing really to take into account regarding safety issues.
