Camera angles/shots/types and editing techniques

Any kind of music is important and very useful for creating meaning. The reason why i say this is because music is good at manipulating the audience's emotions. Music creates rhythm and pace, for example if your listening to an rnb tune then the music would be fast and quite catchy. It doesn't matter what kind of audience you have their moods and feelings will always fit into a song because it has the same pace as what their emotions are telling them. On the other hand music is used to establish a character and their talent through any kind of genre they prefer to work on. As you are aware i'm producing a mucis video and after i have done all the filming, the next stage will have to be editing it.

Editing is a post production technique this means that after i have filmed everything that i need to the next step will be to edit bits. This editing technique is basically when some parts of the footage is reassembled. The term editing refers to the process of getting rid of material that isn't wanted. Such as where a character makes a mistake then it will need to be deleted and will be done through the editing process.

Here are most of the camera and editing techniques:
Establishing shot: this tells us where we are. For my video i will try and incude atleast one establishing shot depending on the location.

Cross cutting: this is when a shot moves from one place to another. This might fit in to my video and i could try it like have a shot which is in one location and put another shot right after that is situated in a different location. That would catch the audience's attention even more because theres more than one location to concetrate on.

Long Shot: This shot shows the full length of a character or object. This will definately be done in my music video to show that the music genre which is bhangra is linked in with the costume too.

High angle shot: Shows weakness this kind of shot will not be used in my music video because it brings in negative parts.

Low angle shot: Shows power. This shot will definatley be used in my video to show that the person that is dancing is in power and is leading the dance kind of thing.

Camera tracks in and out: this is a technique that changes the view of the person or object that is being filmed. By doing this it makes it alot more interesting for the audience to watch becuase at times there will be full shots from a distance or sometimes the shots will be zoomed in close ups.

So basically for when i am recording i am going to try my best to include as many different shots as i can.
